Proper Posture For Sitting At A Desk

Infographics: What is the Best Posture When Sitting in a Computer All Day?

Some of you may be sitting in front of your computer for more than 8 hours right now. And we all know that we can't resist slouching or adopting a bad sitting posture. But, keep in mind, it does have an impact on our health. Therefore we must sit appropriately to avoid posture-related diseases.

Here are some tips on how you can sit properly in front of your desk.
-Maintain your monitor's top at eye level and slightly slanted. Your eyes are 20-28 inches away from the monitor.
-Relax your arms at the sides with your upper and lower arms forming a 90-degree angle. Wrists and fingers should also be straight and relaxed. You may even install wrist cushions for further comfort.
-Your lower legs should be at a 90-degree to 120-degree angle to your thighs, with enough legroom above.
-Place your hips as far back as possible in the chair.
-The feet should be parallel to the floor or on a footrest.
-Maintain a straight upper back and relax your shoulders at the sides.
-The backrest of your chair supports the curve of your lower back.
-Purchase an adjustable-height ergonomic chair.
